Assistance in the Integration of STEAM Learning Methods in Health Aspects for Raudhatul Athfal Teachers to Prevent Disease Transmission in Early Childhood

The health aspect is one of the main dimensions of children's readiness which is closely related to the process of developing other aspects of development. Therefore, efforts to prevent disease transmission in children are not only essential during a pandemic because the virus can be around children anytime. However, learning integration in health aspects is still not the core of early childhood learning in all Raudhatul Athfal in Langsa. With the Community Based Research (CBR) approach, the IAIN research team collaborated with Langsa KKRA community made an effort to change through assistance in integrating STEAM learning methods in the health aspect of Raudhatul Athfal (RA) teachers as an effort to prevent disease transmission in early childhood. As an action-oriented and community participatory research approach, this mentoring process focuses more on the active role of the community in planning, implementing, and evaluating research results to realize the expected positive changes. The follow-up to this initiation is action steps that are manifested in the form of (1) training on the integration of STEAM learning methods in the health aspect for RA teachers in Langsa city (2) implementation of the results of the STEAM learning method project in health aspects at each RA institution, and (3) the formation of a monitoring team from KKRA to evaluate and educate all RAs. These various efforts have positive contribution to increasing the competence of RA teachers, improving children's health, and minimizing the massive rate of disease transmission to children.
