Islam Moderat: Pendampingan Hak Warga Non Muslim Di Perumahan Mayoritas Muslim

Abstract

This community service aims to fulfill the rights of non-Muslim citizens living in Muslim-majority residential areas. Often socially and religiously, a number of non-Muslim residents in the Lebak Kinasih housing complex, Purwakarta Regency, close themselves off and feel that they are not involved in social and religious activities. Therefore, Muslim and non-Muslim citizens are given assistance and guidance in this housing. The total number of residents is 60 families. There were only 5 non-Muslims and 115 Muslims who received assistance. This community service method uses a participatory action research (PAR) design. The mentoring process is carried out by conducting thematic commentary study activities for Muslim residents in the mosque in stages and continuously on Thursday night, Friday and Sunday morning after the morning congregational prayer. In addition, there are deliberation and community service activities to foster togetherness and equal rights among citizens as a form of citizen participation. Researchers as facilitators. The result of this service is awareness among residents to respect the beliefs and lifestyle of non-Muslims such as the habit of keeping dogs, not attending Muslim religious events, good communication, good management of religious activities such as the use of loudspeakers in the prayer room which is limited to certain times. This assistance shows a change in the behavior of the Muslim majority and Muslim minority by greeting each other warmly and respecting each other's rights and obligations
